The UK's Dedicated Matching Network for Private Hire Tax Specialists
We connect Uber, Bolt, and private hire drivers across the UK with vetted accountants who specialise exclusively in gig economy taxation, HMRC compliance, and ride-hailing expense optimisation.
Why General Accountants Cost Uber & Private Hire Drivers Money
Most high street accountants handle a mix of sole traders, limited companies, and PAYE employees. They understand the basics of Self Assessment but rarely encounter the specific rules that govern private hire income. The result is drivers paying more tax than they should, or worse, facing HMRC penalties for incorrectly filed returns.
The details matter. The HMRC mileage allowance shifts from 45p to 25p per mile after the first 10,000 business miles, a threshold many full-time drivers exceed by March. General accountants frequently miss the transition calculation, costing drivers hundreds in over-reported income. They also overlook platform-specific deductions: Uber service fees, Bolt commission structures, congestion charges on specific routes, and the business proportion of phone contracts used for multiple apps simultaneously.
Then there is licensing. Drivers holding TfL PCO licences in London face different deductible costs to those licensed by Manchester City Council or the Department for Infrastructure in Northern Ireland. Clean Air Zone charges in Birmingham, Bristol, and Glasgow add further complexity. A generalist accountant simply does not encounter these variables often enough to handle them confidently.
We built this network because we saw the same problem everywhere: qualified, hard-working drivers leaving legitimate money on the table because their accountant did not understand their business. Every accountant in our network handles private hire clients daily. They know the rules because they live inside them.
How Our Network Operates: Transparency First
We are a specialist matching platform, not an accountancy firm. We do not file your tax return, handle your books, or provide financial advice. What we do is maintain a rigorously vetted network of independent UK accountants who specialise in private hire taxation, and connect you with the right one for your situation.
Driver Submits Requirements
You tell us what you need: Self Assessment filing, mileage tracking setup, VAT registration guidance, or comprehensive ongoing support. You also share which platforms you drive for and your general location.
Platform Matches by Specialism & Area
Our system identifies accountants in our vetted network who cover your area, have experience with your specific platforms (Uber, Bolt, FREE NOW, delivery apps), and match the services you need.
Vetted Accountant Provides a Quote
You receive up to three quotes from independent, qualified accountants. Each includes a free initial consultation so you can assess their expertise and ask questions before committing.
You Choose, We Step Back
You work directly with your chosen accountant. We do not take a percentage of fees, insert ourselves into the relationship, or share your data beyond the initial match. The relationship is between you and your accountant.
Our matching service is completely free for drivers. We are compensated by partner accountants through a referral arrangement, which we disclose openly. This model means you never pay us a fee, and your accountant's quote reflects their standard rates for the work involved. We do not inflate pricing, take ongoing commissions, or share your data with anyone beyond your matched accountant.
Our Strict Vetting Criteria for Partner Accountants
Not every accountant who applies joins our network. We maintain non-negotiable standards because drivers trust us to refer them to professionals who genuinely understand their business. Every accountant must meet all of the following before receiving a single referral.
HMRC Registered & Compliant
Every accountant must be registered with HMRC as a tax agent and demonstrate a clean compliance history. We verify registration status before any driver referrals are made.
Making Tax Digital (MTD) Ready
Partner accountants must use MTD-compatible software and demonstrate current capability with HMRC's digital filing requirements, ensuring drivers meet evolving compliance obligations.
Proven Gig Economy Experience
We require verifiable experience handling private hire and gig economy clients. Accountants must demonstrate knowledge of multi-platform income consolidation, the 45p/25p mileage threshold, and ride-hailing expense structures.
Professional Indemnity Insurance
Full professional indemnity cover is mandatory. We verify active policies before onboarding and require annual renewal confirmation to maintain network membership.
Professional Body Membership
Preference is given to accountants holding membership of recognised bodies such as ACCA, ICAEW, AAT, or CIOT. Membership status is verified during the onboarding process.
Minimum Client Volume
Partner accountants must have an established client base including private hire drivers. We do not refer drivers to accountants who are new to the sector or lack relevant caseload history.
Ongoing monitoring: Vetting is not a one-time gate. We conduct periodic reviews of partner accountants including client satisfaction checks, complaint monitoring, and verification that professional registrations and insurance remain current. Accountants who fall below our standards are removed from the network.
Your Financial Data, Protected & Secure
We understand the trust required when sharing personal and financial information. Our platform operates under strict UK data protection standards, and we take our responsibilities seriously.
ICO Registered
We are registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK's independent body responsible for upholding data protection rights. Our registration confirms we meet the standards required to process personal data lawfully.
UK GDPR Compliant
All data processing follows UK General Data Protection Regulation requirements. Your information is collected with clear consent, used only for the stated matching purpose, and never sold to third parties or used for marketing beyond your enquiry.
Minimal Data, Maximum Privacy
We collect only the information needed to make an accurate match: your name, contact details, location, and service requirements. We do not request bank details, UTR numbers, or sensitive financial data at the matching stage.
Data sharing: Your details are shared only with the specific accountant(s) matched to your enquiry. We do not share data with other platforms, aggregators, or marketing companies. Once a match is made and the accountant has made contact, we retain your data only as long as legally required and in line with our published privacy practices.
